I like to start small to get myself motivated and to avoid feeling overwhelmed. The best place to start is the junk drawers and closets as they seem to gather a lot of unnecessary items. Once I clean those out I work my way through all the clothes, coats, towels, and bedding. I then work my way from room to room clearing away clutter. The best rule to follow is... if you haven't used it in more than year then it's probably time to consider tossing it. This time of year you can usually find good deals on organizational containers.

Don't forget to book your bin, it will make decluttering much easier.

Call us today-

801-631-8187

BTDT Salt Lake Cityhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16083280857041511243noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2729861217543897121.post-16894251697157182982021-12-21T08:48:00.002-08:002021-12-21T08:48:15.261-08:00Christmas Promotion

BTDT Salt Lake Cityhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16083280857041511243noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2729861217543897121.post-59356319539532518252021-12-03T14:03:00.001-08:002021-12-03T14:03:06.800-08:00Maintenance myths
Here are 6 maintenance myths you need to know about:

Solid surface countertops are indestructible. Heat and hard hits can cause damage.

Smoke detectors test buttons ensure they work. Use smoke from a candle or match to test it.

Short lawns mean less mowing. Keep lawns 1-3 inches.

You save energy when the AC is off when you're not home. Your AC has to work overtime to cool your house when you get home.

No gutter maintenance is needed with gutter guards. Smaller debris can still get in and cleaning may still be needed.

Permits for renovations aren't necessary. Make sure to contact your local planning office before starting a major project or build.
BTDT Salt Lake Cityhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16083280857041511243noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2729861217543897121.post-19052670651781919782021-10-21T09:01:00.003-07:002021-10-21T09:01:59.150-07:00Fall to dos
Holidays are coming and usually that's when we are at our busiest. Take some stress off your plate by doing some cold weather prep now. Here is a simple list to get you started:

Prune plants, trees, and any bushes.

Rake leaves as they fall to keep rot off your grass.

clean out your garage and storage areas.

Check your furnace and filter.

Clean out roofing gutters and check downspouts for any blockages.

Consider carpet cleaning to get rid of the summer dirt.

Prep lawn with fall fertilizer and make sure to keep your lawn cut to at about 2-2 1/2 inches long. This is ideal to prevent snow mold and not too short to stress your grass during the winter. Now is a good time to overseed, just make sure to aerate first.

Check you seals around windows and doors.

Before it starts to reach freezing temperatures shut down sprinklers and drain outside faucets.

Cover patio furniture and make sure to store your yard equipment and make any required preparations.
BTDT Salt Lake Cityhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16083280857041511243noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2729861217543897121.post-18291008590670130962021-07-30T18:12:00.001-07:002021-07-30T18:12:12.308-07:008 truck loads
Don't spend your time going back and forth to the landfill.

Did you know that our 20 Yard Dumpster can hold the same amount as 8 pickup trucks loads?

Rent a dumpster for a simple & friendly process

BTDT Salt Lake Cityhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16083280857041511243noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2729861217543897121.post-9826953720110463072021-07-17T19:23:00.004-07:002021-07-17T19:23:57.345-07:00What makes our bins residential friendly
Our residential friendly dumpsters will fit your needs and your budget. September and October is the perfect time to start. Make sure you over seed the entire yard focus on bare spots and yellowing spots. Over seeding will ensure a thick full lawn and reduce weed growth by chocking them out.

Speaking of weeds, fall is a really good time spray for weeds, they are starting to grow deep roots and prepare for seeding so knocking them out now will reduce weeds come spring.

Don't forget to prune plants and trees according to their specific needs. Also, make sure to keep your lawn at 2.5"-3" long for winter, too short can stress it and too long can invite. Stop mowing your lawn when you notice it isn't growing taller.

Aerate and rake your yard to give your grass an extra boost. Make sure you don't let leave gather before the first snow or you may have rot on your hands come spring. Fall fertilizer is also very essential for a healthy yard come spring, look for nitrogen rich blends.

Lastly, fall is a great time to put down sod and plant certain trees, be sure to check your zone and specific plant species for best planting time. Read up on what your trees need to be cared for during the winter, some trees will need watering even if there is snow on the ground.

If you need a bin to haul off your yard waste feel free to give us a call.
BTDT Salt Lake Cityhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16083280857041511243noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2729861217543897121.post-2505526731804758522020-08-17T11:20:00.003-07:002020-08-17T11:20:37.315-07:00Clutter free home
Having a well organized house has so many benefits. You will be surprised how fast and easy it is to get a well organized home.

Call us if your toss pile gets big and you want to schedule a bin.
BTDT Salt Lake Cityhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16083280857041511243noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2729861217543897121.post-1021868168586970232020-08-07T14:37:00.000-07:002020-08-07T14:37:00.398-07:00Fall checklist
Fall checklist to get your house and yard ready;

Make sure you know how each of your plants and trees need to be prepped for winter. Some require being cut back in fall and others in spring. Cutting back your plants and trees ensures they come back better every spring.

Prep your lawn for fall and winter by using the correct fertilizer for fall lawn prep. Doing this will help bring back a beautiful green lawn come spring time.

Check concrete around your home for any cracks or severe wear. Cracks can become worse during the cold months so make sure to fix them early. Most small cracks can be fixed with an affordable bonding agent found at home improvement stores.

Be sure to store away hoses and drain outdoor faucets and sprinkler systems so they don't crack during the cold winter months. Cover or store patio furniture and outdoor toys to protect from the snow and sun.

Walk around the house and make sure all the doors and windows have proper weather stripping. Good weather stripping can save a lot of money on your heating bill. Make sure you are replacing your furnace air filters and keeping intake vents clean of dust and debris. I like to set a reminder on my phone so I don't forget to replace them. There are also services now that will send them on a regular basis so you don't have to remember when to replace them.

Cold fall and winter months are the perfect time to purge and clear out the house. If you are selling your home painting should be a top to-do to get your house market ready.

When considering paint colors it's best to stick to neutral colors. Try to avoid painting every room a different color or if you want to personalize each room pick complimentary colors throughout the whole house. Places you can be bold with your color choices are family rooms or theater rooms. Dark colors can help make a media room feel more relaxed. Dark navy is a favorite choice of home buyers for family and media rooms. Grey's, white's and beige's seem to fit most decor so it's an easy paint to change up the look of the room without always having to paint over a color that was made to match a specific theme.

One area to always keep freshly painted is the outside of the home. Doors, door frames, window moldings, and other areas that currently painted.

Schedule your bin today before you start your next big project.
Being home so much has really made me pay attention to all the home repairs and updates that I've been putting off. All this time home can be an opportunity to update your house and fix up your yard.

Here is a list of quick and easy fixes to get you started:

Replace the blinds and curtains if needed, if still in good shape take them all down and clean them. Since they are down use this time to give the window a really good clean, Make sure to clean the window track.

Paint your front door. This is a really easy and cheap way to spruce up your home. A fresh coat of paint can really make a big difference.

Change out your shower curtains, bathroom rugs, and other decor. Inexpensive and can really update the space.

Weed your yard often, weeds spread fast so it's best to stay up on the weeding. Clean the cracks of the driveway and sidewalks.

I like to sweep off the sidewalks, driveway, porch area, and the gutter in front of our house. This keeps our house looking clean and well cared for.

Make the best of your time home and tackle those home repair projects. Stay safe and healthy!
Taking the time to slowly start the process can help make spring cleaning far more manageable. January and February can be super cold months so put the time spent indoors to good use.

Closets are always a good place to start getting rid of cluttering, they are areas that collect so much stuff. Go from room to room cleaning out and reorganizing the closets. Tackle those "junk" drawers while you're at it.

Clean out clothes that don't fit or are out of style.

Go through the kitchen and get rid of old appliances and dishes. Clean out pantries, fridges, and freezes.

If you still have energy and time go through any storage rooms in your house and clear out the stuff that hasn't been used in 3 years and has no use or sentimental value.

Doing these tasks before spring will give you a great head start to spring cleaning and more time to enjoy the lovely spring weather.
If you have kids the most common areas are toy rooms, kids playrooms, cars, and any areas toys can pile up. Make the kids help sort through and get rid of clutter.

Getting rid of all the stuff that doesn't get use can really open up the house. Having a nice clean and well organized house can make those long winter days spent indoors more bearable.BTDT Salt Lake Cityhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16083280857041511243noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2729861217543897121.post-7219783991012578632019-09-26T19:01:00.001-07:002019-09-26T19:01:26.062-07:00Fall Cleaning tipsNow that fall is officially here it's time to start the fall cleanup list.

The first thing I do is yard prep. Cut back all your perennials, prune and guard trees according to their species requirements. Cut back grass and do any leftover weeding that needs to be done. Clean out the gutters and check the roof for leaks. If you do holiday lights it might be a good idea to hang the light hooks now to beat the cold wet weather.

One of the most overlooked fall cleanups is the dryer vent. If dryer vents and ductwork can't vent properly it can lead to fires or carbon monoxide poisoning. It's important to make it a habit to check and clean your dryer vent's regularly. Here are some signs your dryer vents need a cleaning: taking multiple cycles to dry, odd smell on clothing, burning smell, or the laundry room is warmer than usual while dryer is running.

Here is how to clean the dryer vents:
Disconnect the dryer, unplug the dryer first, remove clamps from vent pipe, pull the pipe away from the wall duct. If you have a gas dryer it may be wise to have an expert clean the vent system.

Clean the vent using a cleaning kit, the kit will have a brush that extends the length of the duct. Some people like to work from the outside of the home.

Reassemble the dryer and enjoy your clean and safe dryer. BTDT Salt Lake Cityhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16083280857041511243noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2729861217543897121.post-31768884527095253972019-09-01T19:19:00.001-07:002019-09-01T19:19:29.846-07:00Closet CleanupI don't know how many times I walked by my over cluttered closets and with every intention of cleaning it out, only to look inside and walk away overwhelmed. Here are a few tips to make it easy and successful!

Ditch the storage containers and boxes- While it may seem like they make a space look more organized they actually quickly become a place to hide and store clutter instead of clear it out.

Shoe organizer- This is an obvious choice but its an easy and cheap fix to keep the floors clear and clean.

Vacuum seal your off season clothes. This will free up space and make getting ready super easy when searching through clothing choices. I especially like doing this for young kids as my daughter is prone to wear sweaters in 100 degree weather.

Curate your closet- Group your clothes by purpose: work clothes, dress clothes, casual etc.. This will make getting dressed super easy and help decide what needs to be refreshed or tossed.
Use these tips and you'll see how easy cleaning out a closet can be and how easy it is to maintain.
